The Wildlife Aid Foundation is based in Leatherhead, Surrey.  It is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned wildlife.   Wildlife don't have their own NHS so charities such as the Wildlife Aid Foundation are really important to them.

The charity also gives school talks and presentations and it works to help future generations discover all about the threats to British wildlife, how we can all help, and what the environmental issues are that affect us all.

But they’re not actually dogs, they’re Andean alpacas who excel at protecting lambs - they are huge, and run towards sounds of distress, scaring off attackers.  The Trust looks after acre after acre of places millions call home - rare butterflies, barn owls, wild ponies, seals, otters, shy water voles, red squirrels, red warblers, native deer… They’re all thriving thanks to the love and care of the Trust's members, volunteers, and rangers.

Get up close to our ancestors
Members help to unlock the stories of the past, whehter it's uncovering 4th century Roman mosaics in Gloucestershire, excavating an Iron Age savings fund squirrelled away in a cave, or bringing people closer to the footprints of cavemen.   The Trust can work with archaelogists, restoration experts and historians, as well as local communities, schools and volunteers, to help people experience the lives of our ancestors

I was looking at the Wildlife Trust's website today.   The Wildlife Trust is a UK based charity, and I was having a look through their website, and I happened to come across the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust.  

Looking at their Membership pages, they really brought home to me that, although the Wildlife Trust covers the UK, you can choose to make a difference to wildlife right in your loved one's local area with a gift membership.

Gift Memberships has been going for some time now and I thought it was time I started an online blog, with news, thoughts, gift ideas, charity news etc.  So here it is - I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful :-)  

One of the reasons I started this website was to raise awareness of the range of meaningful gifts you can get for people who have everything.   You know, I suspect, what I mean - it is hard to buy for them.  They have everything they want, so there's a tendency to go for practical buys which either get stored in a cupboard without use for years on end, or which immediately end up on e-Bay straight after Christmas.

You'll see that many of the gift memberships on this website focus on our green spaces and blue seas - giving nature a helping hand.   I am a nature and wildlife lover, and am doing what I can to help the wildlife in our garden, with birdbaths, food for the birds, log piles, butterfly and bee friendly plants and, soon to be added, a home for hedgehogs.
